Game project: Min sommer på Umige

"My sommer in Uminge" is a six-week team project for the third semester of the bachelor in KADK. In collaboration with Copenhagen Health Innovation, we have been handed a case to help Rigshospitalets in Copenhagen design a game that will be able to help the inpatients at their new children's hospital BørneRiget in their patient process.
We have sought to create a game, to make it possible for the hospitalized children to take a break from everyday life. During that break, they can then achieve the experiences that can be difficult or decidedly impossible to have in their everyday life at the hospital: Relaxation, meaningful relationships, exploration and contact with nature.

I was in charge of scene concept and 3D scene construction. Here shows the key art I created in the early stage for generalization of the overall style.

The buildings in Danish style and some familiar elements can either make children feel nostalgic and relaxed by reclaiming their memories, or remedy them the ordinary Danish children's childhood experiences that they have not had time to experience.

The effect of Scence.1 achieved in Blender. It was a challenge for us to achieve to get the 3D character to move with perspective on the 2D background. Some of the main things (such as houses) will be implemented with 3D models combined with 2D textures.
